1. Brightly beams our Father's mercy from His lighthouse evermore, but to us He gives the keeping of the lights along the shore.
2. Dark the night of sin has settled; loud the angry billows roar; eager eyes are watching, longing for the lights along the shore.
3. Light your lamps, you who are chosen, or some ship that's tempest tossed, if no beacon light is burning, near the harbour may be lost.
Refrain: Let your beacon light be burning! Send a gleam into the night, that some ship still lost in darkness may the harbour safely sight!
