- What are the core beliefs of the church? We are a gospel-centered church community that celebrates the life, death, resurrection and teachings of Jesus. Read our faith statements for a deeper look at what we consider most important.
- What does the New Apostolic Church believe about the Bible? We believe the Bible is a collection of human experiences, recorded over the course of many centuries, of God’s revelation and acts in the course of history. The author of Scripture is God, while its writers were human beings who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Although the contents of the biblical books have their source in God, they bear the mark of their respective writers and their perceptions of the world in terms of style and form of expression. We believe each passage of the Bible should be read in view of its context, and attention given to the fact that any translation of the Bible results from an interpretation of the original text.
- Who leads the church?
Jesus Christ is the head of the church (Colossians 1:17-18). Before His crucifixion, Jesus identifies Apostle Peter as the "rock" upon which He will build His church (Matthew 16:18-19). The leadership and tasks which Jesus gave to Apostle Peter are today discharged by the Chief Apostle. The Chief Apostle is supported by District Apostles, each responsible for a different region around the world. A team of apostles care for smaller regions, and local ministers, both ordained and non-ordained, help each congregation live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- What should I wear if I come to visit? Everyone is welcome; wear what is most comfortable. While business casual is typical, some dress up a bit more.
- How are finances handled? The New Apostolic Church is financed by the anonymous, voluntary donations of its members. Our regular, freewill offerings, tithes, and our special Thanksgiving offering make up most of the Church’s revenue. These offerings fund congregational supplies and resources, church programs and events, benevolence, building operations, international mission activities, and administrative support.
- Is the New Apostolic Church affiliated with a political party? No. While our members find themselves in various places on the political spectrum, the church as an organization is politically neutral. We focus on the gospel of Jesus and sharing His love with the world.
- What does your church say about caring for the environment? As with all of the gifts God has given us, we are to be stewards – properly caring for and protecting that which truly belongs to God. This includes caring for the planet and its resources, along with sharing these resources with the more vulnerable.
- Are LGBTQ+ welcome in your church?
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you (John 13:34). Our congregations are to be bridges for all people to move closer and closer to Christ, and that calls us to embrace all people, including LGBTQ+ people. We want our LGBTQ+ members, visitors, and their families to know that they are welcome and loved by God. As children of God, we know that it is certainly not appropriate for us to pass judgment on our siblings in Christ. Rather, we desire to worship and experience the fullness of God’s love together with all.
- What do you believe about women in leadership?
Man and woman are both equally created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Both are called to protect and shape the creation; God has not assigned them different areas of dominion or activity (Genesis 1:28-30). The responsibilities of men and women are understood differently owing to social and political developments within society, among other things.
As of 2023, women are able to be ordained as ministers in our church. Women are also able and encouraged to have leadership roles in other areas of the congregation, such as on a congregational Shared Leadership Team, in small groups, children's, youth, and music ministries, etc.
- How do I become a member? We’re glad that you’re interested in joining our church family! In our church, membership comes through the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Sealing.
- What is the schedule? Our services are held every Sunday at 10 AM. We also have midweek gatherings for small groups. Check our calendar for special events.
- How long is a typical service? Usually our services are about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes in length.
- How can I volunteer? Volunteering is easy! You can sign up through our website or contact our volunteer coordinator. We welcome help in various ministries.
- Are there youth programs? Yes, we offer programs for children and youth at various age levels. These include Sunday school and youth group activities. Check our 'Grow' section for more details.
- What is planned giving? Planned giving allows you to contribute to our mission through estate planning. This can include bequests, trusts, and other financial instruments. It’s a meaningful way to support our community long-term.
- How do I donate? Donations can be made online through our secure giving portal. You can also give during services or via mail. Every contribution helps us serve our community better.
