A Journey Through Our Church's History
The New Apostolic Church USA has been welcoming people through its doors for over 140 years. Beginning in Chicago, Manhattan, and Buffalo, the first congregations began and were nurtured both by evangelizing ministers and immigrant members from Europe, as well as by the local people who embraced their message and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
- 1820s – A Spark of Revival
In the 1820s, revival movements began to spread across England and Scotland. Believers longed for a renewed faith and a return to the simple, powerful spirit of the early Church. Their hearts were stirred by a shared hope—the promise of Jesus Christ’s return.
- 1830s – The Birth of the Catholic Apostolic Church
From this revival grew the Catholic Apostolic Church, guided by a vision of restoring apostolic ministry. Twelve apostles were called to serve, and over the next two decades, the movement flourished, spreading from England into Germany and beyond.
- 1863 – The New Apostolic Church Emerges
Through prayer, conviction, and a deep desire to follow God’s will, a new chapter began. The New Apostolic Church was established in Germany in 1863, carrying forward the same faith and purpose. As believers emigrated, they brought the message of Christ’s love and return to new lands, including the United States.
- 1900s – Faith Reaches the World
What began as a small movement blossomed into a worldwide community. Through mission work, compassionate service, and joyful worship, the Church’s message of hope, love, and salvation reached hearts across continents.
- 2000s – A Church for Today
Grounded in its rich heritage and guided by God’s Spirit, the Church continues to grow and thrive. With open hearts and united purpose, it welcomes people of all generations—living in faith, sharing love, and joyfully preparing for Christ’s glorious return.
