Episode 91 | Giving is... worship

What does "Giving is worship" mean?

As described previously, we “praise” God for what He has done, and we “worship” Him for who He is. When we fully realize and acknowledge who He is, we come to the humbling conclusion that He is the Creator, and we are the created. He is the Giver of all things (cf. Matthew 7:11). He has given us everything; without Him, there is nothing.

In this humbleness, we worship Him in many ways, magnifying and exposing our feelings about our Father - not because He needs our worship, but because all created things need to make an expression to Him. It’s us who need to worship Him, because worship is a response to the realization that He is the Source of all things

One of these ways to worship is to give. Giving is an element of worship where we show how much we love God and recognize that everything has come from Him. His nature is to give. We give back to Him - and to others - as a reflection of this.

When we give and steward what He has given us, we are also reflecting that we have a connection with our Father, that we trust in His constant provision. Just as children follow the example of their parents, we want to follow the example of God, our Father.
