Episode 51 | Holy Baptism

All men have fallen into sin because of the Fall of Adam and Eve, and this sin rests upon all mankind. God, in His love and compassion, wants to wash this away. Baptism is the act, the sacrament, whereby He washes away original sin. Original sin is the sin from Adam and Eve, not the idea of inherited sins that are inherited from generation to generation – God does not hold us accountable for the sins of our ancestors.

Baptism is a fundamental change that a soul has with God; it is the first step that makes a person a Christian and it has an eternal effect. Once a person is baptized, they are forever in a relationship with God.

  • Baptism washes away original sin.
  • Baptism happens one time in life. It is never repeated and there is no stirring necessary.
  • Baptism is an act of God and signifies the end of life in the condition of remoteness from God and the beginning of life in Christ; it is not merely a symbol or a metaphor.
  • When a person is baptized, they are promised (or the parents of a child who receives Holy Baptism) that the soul now points towards Jesus Christ and sees Him as the way of salvation.
