Episode 48 - What is the bridal congregation?
The concept of the bridal congregation begins in the Old Testament (cf. Isa 62:5, Jer 33:11), and Jesus continues to speak about it. The bridal congregation is simply an image that portrays the intimate relationship that a soul – and the community of believers – has with Jesus Christ. The concept of the apostles preparing the bridal congregation is a reference to the instruction that Jesus gave to the apostles in the Great Commission (cf. Mt 28:16-18). Apostle Paul also mentions it in 2 Corinthians 11:2. We understand that the bridal congregation:
- is not about the celebration, but about the preparation to serve Him in the thousand years of peace.
- will help Jesus Christ profess the wonders of God to all people.
- is preparing for that moment by already today professing and serving Him and others.
Like in a wedding, it is not about the day; it is about the marriage that will always be.
