1. Why wait ye still outside the portals? O hasten, come hasten within! Partake of the blessed enjoyment that Jesus would give you within. Without it is dark and so dreary. You'll find no refreshment when sad. All care cast aside, come and hasten, without there is naught to make glad.
2. No longer in darkness now linger. O hasten, and tarry no more. Forsake your own will now and follow; come, soul, Isincerely implore. Outside there, no peace you will beckon, which Jesus so willingly gives. Outside are destruction and mis'ry; O come, the Lord Jesus still lives.
3. The portals for all are now open, you're bidden, come enter within; for they who apostles' word keepeth shall peace for their souls thereby win. Without, there is fellowship wanting, but Jesus so wants to forgive. O flee from the world of destruction, in heavenly realms come and live.
