1. We praise Thee, Lord, Thou Lion faithful witness; Thou who apostles sendest forth today. Oh, that to Thee our hearts may bow in meekness, that, as of old, Thy blessings tend our way. Thou givest us the fullness of Thy Spirit, through Thy commissioned has us richly blest and through them dost prepare us by Thy merit that, clothed in white, we soon with Thee may rest.
2. Thou greatest Master, here Thy kingdom finish in which Thou shalt forever reign as King. Thou arm of God, be strong, make sin to vanish from Thine elect, and all to vict'ry bring. That Satan may on earth soon lose his power, that Babel's sparkle vanish, be no more; that Zion may in all its glory tower and homeward we exultantly may soar!
3. When shall it be, O Bridegroom, Thy returning? When wilt Thou come to take Thy chosen bride? When strikes the hour that she, Thy love not spurning, in bridal raiment may with Thee abide? In Thy apostles, Lord, be as a giver who doth His Bride most beauteously adorn, that she in glory be like Thee forever when once she meets Thee on that wedding morn!
