1. We cannot but be speaking, God's word we must declare. For this the world may scorn us– with cheer that scorn we bear. We cannot keep from telling what we believe and know. Our mouths of that bear witness which sets our hearts aglow.
2. Love's brooklet must keep flowing and t'ward the ocean wind; it ripples ever onward and never rest does find. Though rocks may try to stem it, in foam it breaks below; its course they cannot alter nor can it backward flow.
3. Yes, Lord, through Your great merit the world to You must yield. Supported by Your Spirit we'll hold the battlefield. We'll clear the way and conquer, what e'er the host may plot; we cannot but accomplish for God forsakes us not.
