1. We are in need of patience when trials come our way, when many great temptations could cause our heart to stray. O come, selected fold, now follow Godly teaching, with heart and soul beseeching: "Your promise, Lord, uphold!"
2. A Godly gift is patience, the Holy Spirit's fruit, for here we need endurance to walk the Godly route. A blessing from above in all our cares and worries; it helps us bear and carry what here we must, in love.
3. Our faith is born through longing to hear and keep God's word. In this let us be watchful, assured and undeterred. Our faith will stay alive when patiently we're guided by servants here provided and heavenward we strive!
4. Though patience is a virtue not easy to attain, with Godly help and courage we may this gift obtain. O Lord, for help I pray! To Thee this plea I tender and ask that Thou will render great patience on my way!
