1. Thus far the Lord God has me brought through His great godly kindness. Thus far He night and day has sought to keep my soul from blindness. Thus far He did me safely guide, thus far has me no joy denied; thus far has been my Helper.
2. To You, my God, be thanks and praise, I am so deeply grateful that all through life's dark stormy days You were to me so faithful. Within my heart I do record the great things done by You, O Lord; thus far You've been my Helper.
3. Help further, too, my faithful Lord; help me whenever needed to overcome all that's abhorred and where I should have heeded. When once the highest goal attained eternally I'll praise Your name: for mercy, my great Helper!
