1. Strong is my Lord Jesus' hand; He will hold my hand and guide me. No one can His pow'r withstand; He will always be beside me. My Redeemer, my Defence: In Him I have confidence.
2. Though by Satan still accused, Christ for me has interceded. Even though by sin abused, Jesus' love for me has pleaded. Christ is now my sure Defence: In Him I have confidence.
3. If my Lord with stern approach seeks to form me in His image, I shall not avoid reproach but His help I will acknowledge. He, the Judge, will grace dispense: in Him I have confidence.
4. Nothing me from Thee will part, none can take this consolation. Great assurance fills my heart through His word– a firm foundation. Jesus is my sure Defence: in Him I have confidence.
