1. Should my pathway lead through tempest, yes, o'er barren desert land, Christ will still remain my refuge, safely lead me by His hand.
2. With much patience I must struggle if I would the goal attain. Here on earth we hear the story, there we'll sing the sweet refrain.
3. If the cunningness of Satan should with fear my heart oppress, then my Saviour will so guide me as is for my soul the best.
4. O then let us practise meekness, faithful, follow His command; then at last, free from transgressions, we before His throne shall stand.
