1. One thing's needful, says my Saviour, always of this mindful be, namely, that my life should focus on the love He shows to me. Without Him my heart will be restless and seeking as all here on earth is but transient and fleeting. The gain of this one thing all loss can repay and teach me in all things to follow His way.
2. Sitting at the feet of Jesus list'ning to His loving word, leaving earthly cares behind me fosters oneness with my Lord. Where Jesus and mankind in love are united, with God's perfect fullness the heart is delighted. I there find the worthiest moments, the best! My one and my all, both my joy and my rest!
3. Jesus, Thou art my salvation, Thou my love, my all shall be. This cannot from me be taken– Thou hast died to set me free. Whatever I need for my journey to heaven by Thee, O my Saviour, is lovingly given. This one thing is needful, all others are vain, I count all well lost if I Thee may obtain!
