1. One heart and soul, in one accord, the first brave Christians followed and in the temple of the Lord, with praise, His name they hallowed. With songs inspired, they all desired that wondrous grace from heaven. One heart, one goal, in love extol the blessings they were given!
2. Though hostile forces posed a threat, it could not stop their yearning. In worship still the brethren met, still more to Christ were turning. Their love shone bright by day and night in lighted homes or prison; when breaking bread, though oft with dread, they joined to praise Christ risen!
3. O blessed time, where did it go when souls were undivided and all as one were holding fast to all that He provided? It is Christ's plea all souls to free and all are thus invited to be His own and wear a crown, and ever be united.
4. Now is the golden time of grace for all to heed His teaching, His footsteps trace, His word embrace through sacrament and preaching! O light divine, upon us shine– it is our faith's endeavour that peace attend as we ascend to be with Christ forever!
