Lyrics
1. O sanctified Sunday, the day of my Lord, what joy does thy coming my spirit afford! The more when my eye then the dawn of day sees, I find myself blissful, revived and at ease. Give thanks, sing praise, honour be paid to God who the Sunday for mankind hath made.
2. Too narrow my dwelling, it urges me rouse, with sons of the Highest to enter His house. Like heavenly music there bursts forth His laud from many hearts' altars as one in accord. Give thanks, sing praise, honour be paid to God who the Sunday for mankind hath made.
3. An envoy the Sov'reign of Peace has sent forth, to sinners makes known that redemption is brought. The Spirit wind rusheth; from death now awake! And of that peace Jesus has brought now partake! Give thanks, sing praise, honour be paid to God who the Sunday for mankind hath made.
4. O Sunday, a glorious taste of that rest we wait for in Eden, the home of the blest. At last, when by grace all my yearning is stilled, I'll sing with the heavenly happiness filled: Give thanks, sing praise, honour accord to Jesus, the Saviour of sinners, our Lord!
