1. O Holy Spirit, enter in, anew in us Thy work begin; Thy temple holy make us. Of soul the sun, Thou light divine, around and in us brightly shine; to strength and gladness wake us. Where Thou shinest there is given life from heaven, faith and power, that for God we live each hour.
2. O mighty Spirit, source of life, let Thy dear word, mid doubt and strife, be so within us burning that we be faithful unto death; in Thy pure love and holy faith from Thee true wisdom learning. Come, Thy graces on us shower; by Thy power Christ confessing, let us win His grace and blessing.
3. O gentle dew, from heaven fall with pow'r upon the hearts of all, Thy tenderness instilling. That heart to heart, more closely bound, we rich in kindly deeds be found, the law of love fulfilling. No wrath, no strife here shall grieve Thee; they receive Thee where Thou livest; peace and love and joy Thou givest.
4. O grant that, while our life shall last, our days in holiness be passed; our minds so rule and strengthen that they may rise o'er things of earth, o'er hopes and joys that here have birth, until our Lord dost end them. Keep Thou pure, then, from offences heart and senses; blessed Spirit, grant us life to thus inherit.
