1. O enter, Lord, Thy temple, be Thou my spirit's guest, who through Thy Spirit gavest a second birth more blest. Thou everlasting Lord, though here to dwell Thou deignest, forever equal reignest, art equally adored.
2. O enter! Let me know Thee and feel Thy pow'r within; the pow'r that breaks our fetters and rescues us from sin. So wash and cleanse Thou me that I may serve Thee truly and render honour duly, with perfect heart, to Thee.
3. Thou, Holy Spirit, teaches the soul to pray aright; Thy songs have sweetest music; Thy prayers have wondrous might, for God doth hear them all. They pierce the highest heaven till He His help hath given who helpeth great and small.
4. Thou art the oil most holy anointing here Thine own. This soul, this body lowly, is Thine and Thine alone. Thy property are we; as bridal souls selected, through love by Thee elected Thy holiness to see.
5. Thou art a joyous Spirit which sorrow's chains doth break. Bring comfort through Thy merit, our burdens lighter make, for Thou so often did with words of love and kindness, remove from me the blindness which joy and blessing hid.
