1. O come, eternal Spirit of truth, diffuse Thy light! Shine in our soul and banish all blindness from our sight. Thy holy fire pour o'er us, touch heart and lips that we with faithful, good confession acknowledge Christ and Thee, acknowledge Christ and Thee.
2. Rank unbelief is rampant, mad folly clouds man's love, hence, Thou Thyself must arm us with weapons from above. With wisdom, grace, endurance and faith robust, and then completely banish from us all false respect for men, all false respect for men.
3. These times call for decisions; though foes 'gainst us inveigh; for open, bold confession, whate'er the world may say; despite the empty glitter with which the world pretends, to praise, defend and cherish Christ's gospel till the end, Christ's gospel till the end.
4. Pour over ev'ry nation a Pentecostal show'r, the word of life thus spreading accompanied with pow'r. Our hearts and lips, Lord, open; all nations' and our own that we, through joy and sorrow, make Christ's salvation known, make Christ's salvation known.
