1. I want to love Thee more sincerely; my Saviour, give me strength for this. Long did the world at random steer me, but now I've found in Thee true bliss. This bliss outshines all fleeting pleasures, all royal crowns and earthly treasures: This bliss shows heaven open wide.
2. Deceived by foes, I spurned Thy mercy and death I faced eternally. Yet kindly Thou hast drawn me to Thee and Thy compassion gave to me. Friend of my soul, for love so tender, take Thou my heart, I all surrender. Accept it, Lord, make it Thine own!
