1. I send you forth, I am your Lord and Master, your Saviour who appointed you to serve. I send you forth, as He who rules all spirits, I give you charge My teaching to preserve. I send you forth, take courage on your mission. My word: "I send you," be your sacred shield. Go forth and bear the consecrated banner, against the host of Satan ne'er to yield.
2. I send you forth, My word in faith to utter, for I have given you the Holy Ghost; and by it's pow'r the timid tongue is loosened to teach the poor who nothing have toboast. I give the heart each day and each new hour the strength to overcome and fears subdue. Give Spirit's light, a living word and power: "I send you forth, My blessings go with you!"
3. I send you forth, I yearn for your returning when you shall enter glory and your rest. When you, enraptured, at My throne are standing, a faithful servant who has done his best. As King I then will greet My faithful servant who has endured in hardship, need and strife. A crown of gold to him shall be awarded, a glorious future and eternal life!
