1. I have found a Friend in Jesus, there's none other quite so true; ev'ry hour and ev'ry moment do I feel His love anew. He does lead on paths of safety, guides me on the narrow way, gives me peace and crowns with blessing, grants new grace from day to day.
2. He, my heart's delight and sunshine, now does make my pathway bright, brings my soul peace and contentment, fills my heart with love and light. Thus He stills my deepest longing, leads through night to brightest day. When my work on earth is over, my last tears He'll wipe away.
3. And now tell me where's another, such a Friend as He on earth, who as He, my Lord and Saviour, to my soul so much is worth? Could I speak with tongues of angels, praising Him, my dearest Friend, songs at best could not express it, for His love is without end.
