1. Homeland mine, homeland mine, beautiful to see! I dearly long with all my heart in that blest place to be. This world is not my lasting home, my heart seeks little here. My homeland in eternal light to me is close and dear.
2. Heavenward, heavenward, I direct my eyes. So many of my loved ones there to whom I soon shall rise. The battle's great and long the days here in this world of sin. Too close I feel the earthly throng, the pressure from within.
3. Not too long, not too long: soon all battles cease. There beckons from the Father's house the sweetest heav'nly peace. What human ears can never hear nor human eyes can see, what never entered human thoughts will there my portion be.
