1.  Gath'ring homeward, you pilgrims, from ev'ry land: O rejoice! O rejoice! Weary feet you'll soon rest on that pearly strand.  Come and rejoice! Golden crowns by the blessed are worn up there as they flourish their palms and sing praises fair.  In His glory forever the Lamb behold as He leads into splendour the heav'nly fold.
2.  Very soon you shall enter that blessed rest: O rejoice!  O rejoice! Ever nearer you draw to your journey's quest.  Come and rejoice!  Let the billows be roaring, just trust the Lord, they but carry the pilgrims still heavenward.  All the children of God strive for this, their aim: To appear before Jesus without a stain.
3.  Blessed Jesus, our Saviour, to You we cling: O rejoice!  O rejoice! In our hearts we are thankful and praises bring.  Come and rejoice!  Having You as our Helper we fear no night, for securely You lead to eternal light. On the cross You have suffered that we may live and to help us Your rod and Your staff did give.
