1. From heav'n above to earth I come to bring good news to ev'ryone. Glad tidings of great joy I bring whereof I now will tell and sing:
2. To you this night is born a Child of Mary, chosen mother mild. This little Child, of lowly birth, shall be the joy of all the earth!
3. This is the Christ, God's Son most high, who hears your sad and troubled cry, for you He will a Saviour be, from sin and fear to set you free.
4. Now let us all with gladsome cheer the shepherds follow and draw near to see God's wondrous gift from heav'n; He us His only Son hath giv'n.
5. All glory be to God above, who gave to us His Son through love. With angels sing in joyful mirth– a glad new year to all the earth!
