1. Breathe upon us, Holy Spirit, as adoringly we bow at God's altar, pure and sacred, paying Him our solemn vow. All our feeble graces quicken with the streams of Your sweet grace and make glorious with Your presence this Your holy dwelling place.
2. You are pure and You are holy; Jesus, make us more like You. You are meek and You are lowly; may Your nature we pursue. Shed abroad Your love within us, fill our souls with light divine. Holy Spirit, fill and lead us, and our godliness refine.
3. Now receive us, as repentant; to Your heart of love we fly. Pardon all our sin and folly, lead us to Yourself on high. Oh, these hearts need Your refining and the cleansing of Your blood! Consecrate and make us holy through redemption's mighty flood.
4. Here shall love, like sacred incense, upward mount to Your great throne, from the clean, pure heart and conscience of a people all Your own. Humble are the gifts we bring You and upon Your altar lay, yet be gracious to Your people as they worship You today.
