1. "Awake, awake," ye weary hearts here yearning! The watchmen call, make sure your lamps are burning. Do not delay, the hour draws ever nearer; the Bridegroom comes, the cry is ever clearer!
2. "Awake, awake," God's servants still are calling. As shepherds they still keep the sheep from falling. The Lord will come, God has the time appointed to gather whom His Spirit has anointed.
3. "Awake, awake," apostles are exclaiming. The word of God with joy they are proclaiming. Though Satan tries his best the truth to stifle, God's servants know with him they cannot trifle.
4. "Awake, awake," the cry becomes yet clearer. The Bridegroom comes, the midnight hour draws nearer! O Bride of Christ, adorn yourself, preparing to meet the Lord, your love for Him declaring.
Refrain: The King will come in glory bright, beyond compare in pow'r and might. O Bride of Christ, your joy make known for He will claim you as His own!
